Information Dissemination for Rural Areas (InDRA)

    Description

This project may be classified as a Core network related projects. An Information management system [IMS] for the rural population:  The rural population in developing countries like India, lacks access to the wealth of information which is readily available to urban areas.  Although tele-centers and information kiosks have been experimented with on a small scale, presenting location specific content is still a major challenge. By building
intuitive, easy to use ICT tools, which can be accessed through Desktops and Mobiles, information dissemination across geographic locations becomes easier. Dependency on network connectivity is also minimised by providing offline versions of the tools. Building
awareness and training rural population on how to use these technology driven tools will then empower the rural end user.
